HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 75 177-75-- i 7 7 R E S OZ U T I O N BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized to retain the firm of Rene' Bates, Auctioneers, Inc. of McKinney, Texas, to provide auctioneering services in connection with the auction of City property as shown on the attached proposal which is made a part hereof for all purposes. Work in conjunction -with -the City in receiving the s ; advertising. -of -'such. auctions through local television, newspapers., and radio advertising'. - 2. Mail out advertisement to an extensive list of pro- spective buyers of,this type_ merchandise in the Tri- State area, including the Houston area. This list of -buyers will_ include the mailing- lists from all the Cities I am -presently working for, and the lists for f the States which employ for services,: and also the lists -for the Postal Service auctions I conduct for'the E�i�CTIOIEERs, IAC. Advertise your auction nationally in the Contractor's 15469 2[4/542-1604 ' Hotiine, which. has .over 350,000 subscribers,- and -keep you in the. -auction calendar after each sale date has been set..: `.. - 4. Provide pre -advertising of.your sal e.on every brochure that is sent out prior to your sale date, along with verbal pre -advertising on all sales I am presently handling. 5. Work in cooperation with the City in supervising all necessary clean-up, repairs, lining up in order to sell most effeciently, and tagging the merchandise for sale. 6. Conduct the.auction with experienced; qualified and licensed auctioneers and ringmen who specialize in this type, auction... 7. -Furnish buyer cards, all equipment and help needed to run the auction. DALLAS ATLANTA SAS' ANTONIO ; JACKSON - 2 - 8. Provide paper dealer tags (valid for 20 days) to buyers who need them. The City of Beaumont will be expected to: 1. Provide a list of all merchandise to be sold. 2. Provide a sale site. 3. Have the equipment made ready for the sale and delivered to sale site. 4. Work with my men in making final preparation for sale. 5. Be responsible for all legal advertising and any extra advertising you wish to do. b. Have City representatives to handle all City monies and paperwork. 7. Provide drivers for your vehicles across the auction block. 8. Provide security for 211 merchandise. As you know, I am very interested in working with the City of Beaumont. As was discussed, my commission will be 10% of.gross sales receipts, payable within thirty days after the auction is completed. I.would'also like to guarantee to you that if the City is not satisfied with the results of my auction that I receive only compensation enough to cover my expenses incurred for this auction.
