R E S O L U T 1-0 N
WHEREAS, bids were received for the furnishing of new
tires and.tubes, and for recapping and section repairs of
tires for the Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, White Tire Supply, Inc. submitted a bid in the
amount of $12,405.36 for passenger car tires and in the amount
of $3,990.00 for steel frame tires, both on a ninety (90) day
contract; Jack's Tire Service Company submitted a bid in the
amount of $384.64 for farm tires, in the amount of $38,802.98
for truck and heavy equipment tires, and in the amount of.
$8,989.18 for recapping and section repairs to tires, all three
as an annual contract for the.Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the. bids
submitted by White Tire Supply, Inc. and Jack's Tire Service
Company are the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of White Tire Supply, Inc. in the amounts of
$12,405.36 and $3,990.00 as 90 -day -contracts, respectively,
for passenger car tires and steel frame tires; and of Jack's
Tire Service Company in the amounts of $384.64, $38,802.98,
and $8,898.18 as annual contracts, respectively, for farm tires,
heavy equipment tires, and for recapping and section repairs
to tires, be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the City
Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf
of the City of Beaumont, a contract with the above-mentioned
;companies for new tires and tubes and for recapping and section
repairs of tires as specified in their bid; and the City Clerk
is hereby authorized to attest to'said contract and to affix
the Seal of the City of Beaumont thereto.
