WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont and David L. Cargill, Sculptor,
executed an agreement on April 17, 1973, for the design and material
and all work relating to the completion and placement of a bronze sculp-
ture on the grounds of the mall between the Beaumont Public Library and
the City Hall -Auditorium at a total contract price of $14,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, the sum of $9,666.66 has previously been paid to David
L. Cargill, Sculptor, based on approval of the scale model or drawing
and completion of the full scale model ready for execution in the final
material-; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has inspected the work and recommends
its acceptance and .the final payment of $4,833.34 to David L. Cargill,
Sculptor, based on actual work performed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont hereby accepts the completion of the aforesaid
contract in all particulars and does further authorize the final payment
of $4,833.34 to the. said sculptor.
