WHEREAS, on February 25, 1975, the voters of Jefferson County
will cast ballots in an election to determine whether the Optional
County Road Law of 1947, also known as the Unit Road System, shall be
adopted in Jefferson County; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the present
system for county road operation is obsolete and inefficient and that
adoption of the Unit Road System will improve the efficiency of the
county road operation system and is in the best interest of the citi-
zens of Jefferson County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the .citizens of Jefferson County are encouraged to cast their
votes on February 25, 1975, in favor of adoption by Jefferson County
of the Optional County Road Law of 1947.
