R E S G L U T I 0 N
WHEREAS, on January 21, 1975, the Cic_y of Beaumont received
bids for the construction of Phase I of the improvements for the'
Beaumont Municipal Airport; and,
WHEREAS, D & D Construction Company submitted the low bid on
these improvements which included a base bid and three alternate bids;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that a contract
should be awarded to D & D Construction Company in the amount of
$510,868.00 for the base bid and'alternate three conditioned upon a
grant offer from the FAA and the acceptance of said grant offer by
the City of'Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to award a bid to D & D Con-
struction Comp any'for alternates 1 and 2 in the amount of $144,397.00,
conditioned upon a second FAA grant and the execution of a contract
by D $ D Construction Company with the City of Beaumont at the above
price under which a work order would be issued on or before July 1,
1975;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE ,CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of D & D Construction Company for the base'bid plus alter-
nate three as received by the City of Beaumont January 21, 1975, be
accepted subject to- a grant offer from the FAA to the City of Beaumont
and the acceptance of said grant offer by the City of Beaumont for this
project, and the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to exe-
cute on behalf of -the City of Beaumont, a. contract with D & D Construc-
tion -Company for.the construction of the ,base bid and alternate three
of the Phase I of improvements for the Beaumont Municipal Airport; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Beau-
mont that.the bid of D & D Construction Company on alternates !,'and 2
of Phase I.of the improvements for the Beaumont Municipal Airport as
received by the City of Beaumont January 21, 1975, be accepted subject
to a second grant offer from FAA for said construction and also subject
to the execution of a contract by the City of Beaumont and D & D Con-
struction Company providing that the bid price of $144,397.00 on alter-
nates 1 and 2 will remain firm until July 1, 1975, and the City Manager
is hereby authorized to execute.on behalf of the City of Beaumont, a
contract with D & D Construction Company providing for the construction
of alternates 1 and 2 of Phase I of the improvements for the Beaumont
Municipal Airport conditioned upon a grant offer from the.FAA and accep-
tance by the City of Beaumont; and the City Clerk is hereby.authorized
to attest to said contracts and to affix'the Seal of the City of Beaumont
thereto.
