R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, only one bid was received for the furnishing of a
90 -day contract (November 15, 1974 through February 12, 1975) for fur-
nishing of liquid asphalt, and bids were received for the furnishing
of limestone base material also under a 90 -day contract of the same
dates, both for the Street Department; and,
WHEREAS, Gulf States Asphalt is the only supplier of liquid
asphalt and submitted a bid in ,the following amounts:

WHEREAS, Keown Supply Company -submitted a bid in the amount
of Six and No/100 ($6.00) Dollars per ton of limestone base material;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the only bid
of Gulf States Asphalt be accepted, and that the bid of Keown Supply
Company is the best bid and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Gulf States Asphalt in the amounts as listed above,
and the bid of Keown Supply Company in the amount of $6.00 per ton,
be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City Official
is hereby authorized to make payment for said liquid asphalt and lime-
stone base material upon acceptable delivery.
