WHEREAS, bids were received for the furnishing of one (1) one
box type landscraper, one (1) industrial type curb edger, one (1) riding
lawnmower, and one (1) six (6') foot adjustable scraper blade, all for
the Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, Michel Machinery Corporation submitted a bid in the
amount of Five Hundred Forty -Three and No/100 ($543.00) Dollars for the
box type landscraper; Goldthwaites submitted a bid in the amount of Five
Hundred Twenty -Five and No/100 ($525.00) Dollars for the industrial type
curb edger; Goldthwaites submitted a bid in the amount of One Thousand
Three Hundred Sixty and No/100 ($1,360.00) Dollars for the riding lawn-
mower; and, Oil City Tractors, Inc.,submitted a bid in the amount of
Two Hundred Ninety -Five and-No/100 ($295.00) Dollars for the 6' adjus-
table scraper blade, all for the Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids sub-
mitted by Michel Machinery Corporation; Goldthwaites, and Oil City Trac-
tors, Inc. are. the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Michel Machinery Company in the amount of $543.00 for
the box type landscraper, of Goldthwaites in the amount of $525.00 for
the industrial type curb edger, of Goldthwaites in the amount of $1,360.00
for'the riding lawnmower, and of Oil City Tractors, Inc. in the amount of
$295.00 for the'6' adjustable scraper blade, be accepted by the City of
Beaumont, and the appropriate City Official is hereby authorized to make
payment for said box type landscraper, industrial type curb edger, riding
lawnmower, and 6' adjustable scraper blade upon acceptable delivery.
