WHEREAS, the :City 'of Beaumont'and.the Beaumont -.Independent
School District have large'amounts,of.uncollected delinquent ad valorem
taxes;. and,
WHEREAS; the City and the',District'b.elieve that 'a joint e.ffo,rt
is the .most effective.method.for improving the collection of.delinauent
ad valorem taxes due each; and,.
WHEREAS., the City and the District havenegotiated an agreement
creating a joint. agency, pursuant ,to the' terms ' of . the Interlocal__;
Cooperation Act,.'Art. 4413-(32c)'-, Tex.Civ.Sta.Ann.empowered to collect
delinquent ad valorem taxes for ,each;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT'RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF. THE CITY OF BEAUMONT;
THAT the Mayor be; -and he. is hereby,.,authorized to'exectte an -agreement
with the Beaumont-IndependentSchool District creating a joint agency
for the collection of delinquent ad valorem taxes to.be'-known as the
Beaumont.Consolidated Delinquent Tax Agency;
AND BE IT ,FURTHER RESOLVED that the City -Clerk be, and she is
hereby, authori,zed'to attest to same and.to affix .the. Seal of the Cit
Y,
