R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont, as Lessee, and Beaumont
City Lines, Inc., as Lessor, executed on the 15th day of December,
1972, an agreement for the lease of certain real estate located
at 1125 Archie Street in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, for the operation of a bus garage and urban transit system;
and,
WHEREAS, said lease agreement contained a clause giving
to the City of Beaumont the right and option to buy the premises,
including all improvements thereon, for the sum of $60,000.00,
and further provided that written notice exercising said option
should be given 30 days prior to the date of its execution; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the exercise of
said option is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and
its citizenry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to give immediate written notice of the exercise of the hereinabove
described option to the hereinabove described lease to Beaumont
City Lines, Inc., and the expenditure of $60,000.00 as consider-
ation for the purchase of the real estate above described plus any
necessary incidental expenses is also hereby authorized.
