WHEREAS, on September 10, 1974, the City of Beaumont received
bids for the Shakespeare Drive Participation Paving Project; and,
WHEREAS, Don Streety Company submitted a bid in the sum of
Thirty -Five Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -Seven and No/100 ($35,597.00)
Dollars for such Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that the contract
be awarded to Don Streety Company; and,
WHEREAS, this is a participation contract in which Don Streety
Company has agreed to pay a portion of the cost of the construction of
the street and has placed in escrow the sum of Twenty -One Thousand Two
Hundred Seventy -Six and 01/100 ($21,276.00) Dollars with the City of
Beaumont which sum is a sufficient sum of money to cover its part of
the cost of the paving of said street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid sub-
mitted by Don Streety Company is the lowest and best bid and should be
accepted and a contract entered into with Don Streety Company for the
Shakespeare Drive Participation Paving Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Don Streety Company be accepted, and the City Manager
be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf of the City of
Beaumont a contract with Don Streety Company for the Shakespeare Drive
Participation Paving Project for the sum of $35,597.00; and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said contract and to affix the
Seal of the City of Beaumont thereto.
