WHEREAS, the Urban Mass Transportation Administration of the
Department of Transportation has tendered to the City a grant in the
total sum of Two Million Two Hundred Fifty -Three Thousand Two Hundred
Four and No/100 ($2,253,204.00) Dollars, representing eighty (80) per
cent of the cost of capital improvements to be made to the City's
transit system; and,
WHEREAS, the City's share of the cost of said improvements is
$563,301.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that said grant
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager, Kenneth R. Devero,.be, and he is hereby, autho-
rized to accept.:.,said grant on behalf of the City of Beaumont and to
execute all documents appropriate thereto; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all appropriate City Officials are
authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary for the accep-
tance of said grant.
