WHEREAS, bids were received for the providing of furniture and
furnishings for the Police -Municipal Court Building; and,
WHEREAS, Texas Office Supply submitted a bid in the amount of
One Hundred Thousand Five Hundred Fifty -Two and 54/100 ($100$5.2.54)
Dollars for the furniture and furnishings for the Police -Municipal
Court Building; and,
WHEREAS, Alternate 1 deducts $6,869.49 from the base bid of
$96,004.09 and allows for a change in upholstery for the chairs speci-
fied. Alternate 2 adds $11,417.94 to the base bid and provides for a
better quality of chairs; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid sub-
mitted by Texas Office Supply is the lowest and best bid and should
be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Texas Office Supply in the amount of $100,552.54, and
Alternate 1 and 2, be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appro-
priate City Official is hereby authorized to make payment for said fur-
nishings upon acceptable delivery and/or installation.
