WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont is in need of a master plan
which will provide guidelines for the future development of the
Beaumont Municipal Airport to fulfill aviation needs, meet community
goals, and be compatible with the environment; and,
WHEREAS, the Beaumont Municipal Airport is in need of certain
capital improvements; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that applications be
filed for a planning grant and for a capital grant seeking funds from
the Federal Aviation Administration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to submit applications to the Federal Aviation Administration, Depart-
ment of Transportation, for an Airport Master Planning Grant to assist
the financing of a master plan for the Beaumont Municipal Airport and
for a capital grant for needed capital improvements to the Beaumont
Municipal Airport; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of Eight Thousand One Hun-
dred Ninety -Seven and No/100 ($8,197.00) Dollars presently appropriated
in the contingency account is hereby encumbered to defray the City's
share of the cost of the project.
