WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice'Council has made available
funds for the continuation of the Police Public Service Unit, Grant
Number AC -3-I1-1641; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont recognizes
that the continuation of such a Police Public Services will be bene-
ficial to the City by increasing.understanding and mutual awareness
between the community and the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City is prepared to commit approximately Sixteen
Thousand and No/100 ($16,000.00) Dollars in-kind services towards admin-
istration of such a Police Public Service Unit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the necessary City Officials, to -wit: Kenneth R. Devero, Dean
Ransom and Willie Bauer, are hereby authorized to execute an applica-
tion for a grant to the Texas Criminal Justice Council for funds to
continue the Police Public Service Unit.
