WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont and the Beaumont Credit Corpora-
tion executed a contract for the paving of a portion cE Cartwright
Street as set out in the contract awarded June 26, 1973, to Mar -Len,
Inc. in the amount of $76,055.40 based on estimated quantities; and,
WHEREAS, the actual cost of the work was $76,921.40, and the
sum of $42,576.39 has been paid to Mar -Len, Inc. with $5,818.24 having
been paid to F. E. Willcox, the Consulting Engineer; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has inspected the work and along
with the Consulting Engineer, recommends its acceptance of the work
and a final payment of $34,345.01 to the contractor, Mar -Len, Inc.,
and $1,873.90 to the Consulting Engineer, said amounts based on actual
quantities of work performed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont hereby accepts the completion of the afore-
said contract in all particulars and does further authorize<the final
payment of $34,345.01 to the contractor, Mar -Len, Inc., and $1,873.90
to the Consulting Engineer, F. E. Wilcox.
