WHEREAS, the Downtown Rotary Club of Beaumont is interested
in helping the citizens of the City of Beaumont acquirea mini -park
for the pleasure and entertainment of said citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has determined that it would
be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Beaumont to
acquire such a mini -park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager of the City of Beaumont is hereby authorized to
accept a contribution from the Downtown Rotary Club in the amount of
Two Thousand and No/100 ($2,000.00) Dollars, said contribution to be
used for the purchase of land for a mini -park.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of
Beaumont is hereby authorized to equip and maintain the land purchased
for said mini -park in a manner comparable to other such parks within
the city limits of the City of Beaumont.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the mini -park to be purchased with
this gift shall henceforth be known as the "Downtown Rotary Club Park",
and should the City of Beaumont ever cease to use this property for
park purposes, any funds realized from an alternate use of said pro-
perty shall b.e used for the benefit of another park within the City
of Beaumont.
