WHEREAS, bids`were received on April 1, 1974, for the fur-
nishing of a one (1))ear supply of chlorine beginning May 1, 1974,
for the Water Utilities Department; and,
WHEREAS, Jones Chemicals, Inc. submitted a bid in the amount
of Thirty -Five Thousand and No/100 ($35)000.00) Dollars for the one
year supply of chlorine beginning May 1, 1974, for the .Water Utili-
ties Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Jones Chemicals, Inc. is the lowest and best bid and
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Jones Chemicals, Inc. in the amount of $35,000.00
be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City Offi-
cial is hereby authorized to make payment for said one year supply
of chlorine beginning May 1, 1974 upon acceptable delivery and/or
installation.
