WHEREAS, bids were received in March of 1974 for the furnish-
ing of new tires and tubes, and for.recapping and section repairs for
the Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, White Tire Supply, Inc. submitted a bid in the amount
of Fifty -One Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Two and 41/100 ($51,572.41)
Dollars for the new tires and tubes for the Fleet Maintenance Depart-
ment, and Jack's Tire Service Company submitted a bid in the amount
of Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty -Eight and 62/100 ($7,728.62)
Dollars for recapping and section repairs for the Fleet Maintenance
Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids sub-
mitted by White Tire Supply, Inc. and Jack's Tire Service Company are
the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of White Tire Supply, Inc. and Jack's Tire Service Com-
pany, in the amounts of $51,572.41 and $7,728.62, respectively, be ac-
cepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City Official is
hereby authorized to make payment for said new tires and tubes, and
for recapping and section repairs upon acceptable delivery and/or
installation."
