WHEREAS, on January 22, 1974, the City Council received bids
for furnishing the necessary material, equipment, superintendence and
labor for the construction of Phase 2 of Phelan Boulevard, Revenue
Sharing Project RS -T-11; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids sub-
mitted on the project by J.C.N. Pavers, Inc. in the amount of $1,352,869
with 220 working days to complete, is the lowest and best bid and should
be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids for the construction of Phase 2 of Phelan Boulevard sub-
mitted by J.C.N. Pavers, Inc. in the amount of $1,352,869 with 220
working days to complete is hereby accepted, and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to enter into a contract with J.C.N. Pavers, Inc. in
accordance with its bid, the cost'of said construction to be paid from
Revenue Sharing Funds; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest
to same and to affix the seal of the City thereto. This award is con-
tingent upon the execution of a contract with J.C.N. Pavers, Inc. which
includes all provisions regarding labor standards pursuant to the Davis -
Bacon Act and all other requirements of the State and Local Fiscal Assis-
tance Act of 1972.
