WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council has funds avail-
able to partially finance the purchase of a telephone -radio communi-
cation logging recorder for the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont desires to purchase such a.
telephone/radio communication logging recorder in an effort to im-
prove the efficiency and effectiveness of the police communications
system; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is prepared to commit approximately
$3,000 toward the purchase price of such a device, as cash match;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the necessary City.Officials, to -wit: Kenneth R. Devero, Dean
Ransom and Willie Bauer, are hereby authorized to execute an applica-
tion for a grant to the Texas Criminal Justice Council for funds for
the purchase of a telephone/radio communication logging recorder.
