WHEREAS, by resolution dated the 24th day of October, 1972,
the City Manager was authorized and did enter into a contract with
the Beaumont Economic Development Foundation for the purpose of
advertising.the City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, said contract provided that it might be renewed
and extended by the written agreement of the -City of Beaumont and
Beaumont Economic Development Foundation; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont desires to extend said agree-
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into
an extension and renewal of the City's contract with the Beaumont
Economic Development Foundation dated October 20, 1972, and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said agreement. The appro-
priate City Official is hereby authorized to make payment under said
agreement and as provided therein to a maximum of $50,000. Said
agreement shall be for a period of one year.

LETTER AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, the Beaumont Economic Development Foundation and
the City of Beaumont entered into an agreement dated the 20th day
of October, 1972; and,
WHEREAS, both the City.of Beaumont and the Beaumont Economic
Development Foundation desired to extend and renew -.this written agree-
ment for a period of one year commencing January 1, 1974, and extend-
ing through December 31, 1974.
WITNESSETH:
The City of Beaumont acting by and.through its duly autho-
rized City Manager and City Clerk does hereby agree to the extension
and renewal of the written agreement between the City of Beaumont and
the Beaumont Economic Development Foundation for the advertising of
the City of Beaumont dated the 20th day of October, 1972.
The Beaumont Economic Development Foundation, acting herein
by and through its duly authorized President and Secretary agrees
with the City of Beaumont to the extension and renewal of the said
agreement dated October 20, 1972 for a period of one year commencing
January 1, 1974 and extending through December 31, 1974.
