R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Traffic and Transportation Department of the
City of Beaumont has submitted a grant request to the Governor's
Office of Traffic Safety for $110,000 to make traffic and pedes-
trian safety studies in Beaumont; and,.
WHEREAS, this grant has been approved by the State and
approval by the Federal Department of Transportation is antici-
pated; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City
Manager to negotiate a contract for engineering services for an
amount not to exceed the total of the grant described herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter
into negotiations and execute a contract with Wilbur Smith &
Associates for engineering services as outlined in the grant
request made to the Governor's Office of Traffic Safety. Autho-
rity to negotiate and execute a contract is limited to the amount
of money received under the grant.
