A RESOLUT ION
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest
of The City of Beaumont and its citizenry to acquire land
immediately north of the Central Fire Station in order to provide
additional parking and working space for said Station, all for a
public purpose; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the fair market
value of Lots 693, 694 and 695 of Block 30 of the Original Town -
site of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, is $20,000; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
THAT the Legal Department be, and it is hereby, authorized
to purchase from the owners thereof Lots 693, 694 and 695 of Block
30 of the Original Townsite of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
said owners being the Westminster Presbyterian Church, for the sum
of $20,000, the City to pay closing costs except outstanding indebt-
edness, taxes or other encumbrances or clouds upon the title.
