R E S 0 L U T.I O N
WHEREAS, on October..2, 1973, the City of Beaumont re-
ceived bids for the Eighth Street Participation.Project; and,
WHEREAS, E. R. Dupuis Concrete Company, Inc. submitted
a bid in the sum of Thirty -One Thousand Two Hundred Sixty -Seven
and No/100 ($31,267.00) Dollars for such Project; and,
WHEREAS, the.City Engineer has recommended that the con-
tract be awarded to E. R. Dupuis Concrete Company, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, this is a participation contract in which Sun-
light Manor, a non-profit trust,"has agreed to pay a portion of
the cost of.the construction of the street'and has placed in es-
crow the sum of Twenty -Two Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty -Nine and
13/100 ($22,929.13) Dollars with the City of Beaumont which sum
is a sufficient sum of money to cover its part of the cost of the
paving of said street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by E. R. Dupuis Concrete Company, Inc. is the lowest
and best bid and should be accepted and a contract entered into
with E. R. Dupuis Concrete Company, Inc. for the Eighth Street
Participation Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of E. R. Dupuis Concrete Company, Inc. be accepted,
and the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
on behalf of the City of Beaumont a contract with E. R. Dupuis
Concrete Company, Inc. for the Eighth Street Participation Pro-
ject for the sum of $31,267.00; and the City. Clerk is hereby
authorized to attest to said contract and to affix the seal of
the City of Beaumont thereto.
