WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council has made
available funds for continuation of the Beaumont Police Depart-
ment Mobile On -Duty Electronic Learning Project; and,
WHEREAS, the newly adopted provisions of the Texas
Penal Code have made it necessary for a number of previously
produced training messages under this program to be revised and
updated; and,
WHEREAS, the Beaumont Police Department desires to
provide in-kind match in the amount of $1,294 to be made up of
salaries of Police Department personnel participating in the
project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to
execute an application for funds under the Mobil -_ On -Duty
Electronic Learning.Project to the Texas Criminal Justice Council
to be submitted to the Council for their approval and be it
further resolved that the City Council of the City of Beaumont
hereby ratifies any action taken by the City Manager previous to
this resolution in signing any applications under this project.
