WHEREAS, the City Council and the City Staff have
carefully considered the request,of certain citizens of the
Lumberton area that The City of Beaumont consent to the in --
corporation of .a proposed -city in the.Lumberton area, and
ha.s considered said request in relation to the growth pat-
tern, both present and anticipated, of The City of'Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the request of said citizens in the Lumberton
area, which area -is within the extra -territorial jurisdiction
of The City of Beaumont, that The City of Beaumont consent. to
the incorporation of a proposed city for said area is hereby
refused, because the -incorporation of -.the proposed area would
interfer with the natural, anticipated growth of The City'of
Beaumont,.and would not be in -the best interest of either the
citizens of The City'of Beaumont or in the best -interest of
the citizens of the Lumberton area.
