RESOL:UTI.ON
WHEREAS, on February 20, 1973, The City of Beaumont
received bids for the paving of Landis, Wooten and Shelby
Streets in the Gulf Terrace Addition to The City of Beaumont;
and,
.WHEREAS, Greer Construction Company submitted a bid
in the sum of $85,016.96 for�such paving of Landis, Wooten
and,Shelby Streets; and,
WHEREAS, W. J. Balmer; Director of Public Works, has
recommended that the contract be awarded to Greer Construction
Company; and,
WHEREAS, this is a participation contract in which
A. D. Sylvester Company has agreed to pay two-thirds of the,
cost of the construction of the street and has placed in
escrow with The City.of Beaumont a sufficient sum of money
to cover its part of the cost of the paving of said streets;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bid submitted by Greer Construction Company is the lowest
and best bid and should be accepted and a contract entered
into with Greer Construction Company for said paving of
Landis, Wooten and Shelby Streets; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT.
That the bid of Greer;Construction Company be accepted
and.the Ac -ting City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to.execute on behalf of The City of Beaumont a contract with
Greer Construction Company for the paving of Landis, Wooten
and Shelby Streets in the Gulf Terrace Addition of The City
of Beaumont for the sum of $85,016.96 with 100 working days
to.attest to said contract and to affix the seal of.The City
of Beaumont thereto.
