A R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, at
a regular session, enacted an ordinance calling an election to
be held in the City of Beaumont on the 26th day of September,
19729 to submit to the qualified electors the proposition of
whether the City of Beaumont should be authorized to sell a portion
of Central Park in the City.of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly given in
accordance with law, and returns thereof have been duly made by
the election officials, and having duly and regularly canvassed
the returns of said election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY'THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Council finds that there were cast at said election
3,011 votes, and for the authorization to the City of'Beaumont to
sell a portion of Central Park there were cast 1,785 votes, and
against the authorization to the City of Beaumont to sell a
portion of Central Park.there were cast 1,226' votes; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Beaumont that the proposition that the City of Beaumont be
authorized to sell a portion of Central Park passed at said
election.

September, 19720
