HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 59 DDDLLJ/im/8/18/72 a S R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish guide- lines regulating appointees of the Council to boards and commissions in order to effectively carry on the business and welfare of the City-, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the following guidelines for appointees of the City Council ` to boards and commissions are as follows: 1. No person appointed by the City Council to serve on a board or commission shall serve more than two consecutive terms on said board or commission. 2. The City Council shall have the power to remove any and all appointees who do not attend more than 50 percent of all regularly scheduled meetings within a one year period. 3. Any Council appointee who subsequently runs for any public office shall automatically resign from his board or commission position. 4. The City Clerk shall be designated as the agent reporting to the City Council and keeping the Council advised on matters relating to appointments. a. The City Clerk shall maintain a roster of members of all appo.in-ted boards and commissions and report to the Council on the provisions of this policy regard- ing attendance, terms served, etc. b. The City Clerk shall inform the Council of all forthcoming vacancies at least thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of each term.
