A RE SOLUTION
WHEREAS, House Bill No. 226 authorities cities of not
more than 500,000 population to expend money for advertising
the city in promoting its growth and development; and \
WHEREAS, this Act requires that a citizens advisory
committee be known as 11City Board of Development", consisting
of five members to be appointed by the governing body of the
City for a two year term; and
WHEREAS, said committee is to have advisory powers
only and shall investigate the desirability of various methods
of advertising and promoting the city, and make appropriate
recommendations to the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the following five people are hereby appointed to the
City Board of Development of the City of Beaumont for two year
terms: Charles Locke, Gilbert Adams, Dr. J. S. Rogers, Mark
Steinhagen and Spurgeon Wallace;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City Board of
Development shall meet and investigate the desirability of
various methods of advertising and promoting the City of
Beaumont, and shall make appropriate recommendations to the
governing body of the City of Beaumont as to the best method
of expending funds already available, the amount of funds
which should be appropriated in the next budget, and the
methods of using said money.
PASSED by the City Council this the 16-�11 day of
1972.
