RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has received a letter from
the Department of the Navy cancelling the Navy's lease No. NOy(R)-95987
on Central Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the termination of this
lease effective upon the date of the execution of the termination instrument;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Ken Ritter, Mayor of the City of Beaumont, Texas, is hereby authorized
to execute a legal instrument accepting the surrender of the Navy lease No.
NOy(R)-95987 effective August 15, 1972, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized
to attest to same and to affix the seal of the City, -off Beaumont thereto.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that
W;:HEREAS, by, lease dated the 31st day of August 19 66
and bearing, Number NOY(R) 95987 The City of Beaumont, Texas
whose address is Jefferson CoUnEy, Texas
as Lessor, leased to THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as Lessee, premises:
A tract of land containing 6.313 acres, more or less, in the City of .Beaumont, County
of Jefferson. Texas, being a portion of the original Municipal Golf Course property,
more particularly described in said lease, and
WHEREAS, the UNITED STATES -OF AMERICA., no longer requiring the use
of said premises has surrendered possession thereof to the Lessor., and
the Lessor has accepted such surrender on the 1,fr* day of r ,.Q' ' 19-ZL.
The undersigned, the Lessor under said lease for and in considera-
tion of the surrender of said premises,.the return of which in good
condition is hereby acknowledged, has remised, released and forever dis-
charged, and by these presents does for its successors, and assigns, re-
mise, release and forever discharge the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, its
officers, agents and employees, of and from all manner of action, claims
or demands (except for the payment of rent to the above referred to date
of surrender') which against the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, its officers,
agents and employees, the undersigned ever had, now has or ever will
have upon, or by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever arising
out of,said lease or the occupancy by the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA of
said premises or, the use of any persor:al. property thereon....__,_
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned has signed and sealed these
presents or caused these presents to be executed by its duly authorized
