A RE S 0 L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the acquisition of certain property described
as Lot 10 of Block 2 of the University Place 2nd Addition to
the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, will be necessary
for the completion of the University Boulevard project contem-
plated by the City of Beaumont, or will require such a sub-
stantial payment of damages by virtue of a partial taking so
as to make it in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and
its citizenry to acquire the hereinabove described property
at this time at its reasonably appraised and approved price;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to
purchase from the owner or owners thereof .the hereinabove
described.property for the public purpose of the completion
of the University Boulevard project of widening, straightening
and extending said street as part of the Capital Improvements
Program.
PASSED by the City Council this the day of
1972.
