A RE S O LUT I O N
WHEREAS,. the City of Beaumont will construct certain
street improvements in the vicinity of West Lucas, Folsom, and
Crow Road, under Project 11 -ST -11 of the Capital Improvements
Program; and,
WHEREAS, Drainage District No. 6 of Jefferson County,
Texas, will construct a drainage outfall in the same vicinity;
and,
WHEREAS, the City has advertised for bids on a total
proj.ect that will combine the street improvements and the
drainage outfall into one contract; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is
in the best interest of the City to enter into a contract with
Drainage District No. 6 of Jefferson County, Texas, for joint
construction of said projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY,COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
enter into a contract with Drainage District No. 6 of Jefferson
County, Texas, for the construction of street improvements and
drainage outfall in the vicinity of West Lucas, Folsom and
Crow Road at a total cost to the City of $589,630.10 and a
total cost to the Drainage District of $256,774.00, the total
cost of the project being $846,404.10; and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized to attest to same and to affix the seal of
the City thereto.
