R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the acquisition of Lots 564 - 568 of Block 5
•of the Original Townsite of Beaumont, as per map or plat filed of
record with the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas, is essential
for the establishment; construction, improvement, equipment, operation
and maintenance of off-street parking, to supplement the parking dis-
placed by the construction of the new library building, and is con-
sidered in the best interest of the City of Beaumont; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the Legal Department be, and it is hereby, directed to commence
negotiations with property owners of the hereinabove described land,
or such portions thereof as may be necessary for the hereinabove
stated purpose,to the end that property owners thereof shall receive
the fair cash value of their property.
PASSED by the City Council this 23 jday of May, 1972.
