R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the acquisition of a strip of land lying
between Corley Avenue at its intersection with Sabine Pass and
Madison Avenue at its intersection with Railroad Avenue and
an additional strip of land off the south side of Madison
Avenue in the general area of its intersection with Railroad
Avenue in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, is
essential to the opening, extension, straightening and widen-
ing of Corley and Madison Avenues so that the two said Avenues
will be connected, and is considered in the best interest of
the City of Beaumont; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the Legal Department be, and it is hereby, directed to
commence negotiations with the property owners of the herein-
above described strip of land as may be necessary for.the herein-
above described purpose, to the end that the City of Beaumont
shall acquire the right of way necessary to accomplish said
purpose, and to the further end that property owners thereof
shall receive the fair cash value for their property.
