A RESOLUT ION
WHEREAS, on the 14th day of February, 1972, the City
of Beaumont recovered judgment against Republic National
Life Insurance Company in -the sum of Two Thousand One Hundred
Fifty-five and 82/100 ($2,155.82). Dollars, plus interest
thereon at the rate of six percent (6%) per annum from the
date thereof, together with costs of court, said judgment
being in cause No. D-87,591, City of Beaumont, et al vs. Sam
Plummer, dba Hotel Beaumont, et al, in the 136th District
Court of Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the entire amount of the judgment adjudged
against Republic National Life Insurance Company in favor of
the City of Beaumont, together with interest and costs, has
been tendered and paid to the City of Beaumont, and the City
Council is of the opinion that a release of said judgment and
all liens acquired by virtue of said judgment should be
executed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized, for
and in consideration of payment of said judgment, with interest
and costs, to execute and deliver an instrument to Republic
National Life Insurance Company releasing any rights and
interest acquired by the City of Beaumont against Republic
National Life Insurance Company only by virtue of said above-
mentioned judgment; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized
to attest to said instrument and to affix the seal of the
PASSED by the City Council this the %L'j,day of
