R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, by contract dated April 1, 1971, the City
of Beaumont employed the Chamber of Commerce to operate a
Convention and Tourism Facilities Bureau to promote
and solicit tourism and conventions for the City of Beaumont;
and,
WHEREAS, paragraph 7 of said contract provides that
the City shall reimburse the Chamber of Commerce for expenses
incurred in the operation of said Convention and Tourism
Facilities Bureau on a quarterly basis; and,
WHEREAS, to improve the cash ,flow of the Chamber of
Commerce, the City Manager has recommended that said contract
be amended to provide for quarterly advance payments to the
Chamber;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute an amendment to said employment contract, whereby
the City of Beaumont will advance sums to the Chamber of
Commerce'to cover anticipated expenses for each quarter
according to the projected budget of the Convention and
Tourism Facilities Bureau as approved heretofore.
PASSED by the City Council this ZL4 day of February,
1972.
