HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 59 BBBLN/im/11/12/71 sq %6% A RES OLUTION WHEREAS, on June 10, 1921, the trustees of the Beaumont Temperance Hall Company conveyed the Beaumont Temperance Hall Building to the City of Beaumont; and, WHEREAS, by the terms of the said conveyance, the City of Beaumont is required to expend the income from the property for charitable, library, temperance and other purposes consistent with the purposes of the said Beaumont Temperance Hall Company; and, WHEREAS, the accumulated income from said property has been set aside in a Temperance Hall Fund; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to distribute said fund in accordance with the terms of the above-mentioned contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to expend the money in the Temperance Hall Fund in the following manner: and, (1) The Tyrrell Public Library shall receive ten percent (10%) of the present balance in the fund and ten percent (10%) of the monthly rental of the Beaumont Temperance Hall Building. (2) The Women's Christian Temperance Union shall receive Sixty -Five ($65.00) Dollars per month out of the rental paid to the City for the Beaumont Temperance Hall Building. (3) The remainder of the fund and the remainder of all monthly receipts shall be disbursed to the Beaumont Council on Alcoholism; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby retains the right to review the use of the funds by the organizations out- lined above and reserves the right to revoke the payment of the funds as set out herein at any time. ..� PASSED by the City Council this the 1,01.day of 1971. mzyor
