R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the City received bids on October 26, 19713
for purchasing traffic signal equipment and supplies under
the Capital Improvements Program financed by bonds approved
by the voters of the City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the hereafter stated firms submitted the
lowest and best bids on the various items stated; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
hereafter stated bids should be accepted and that the funds
from the correct bond issue should be appropriated for such
purchases;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the finance officer, or his designee, be, and he is
hereby, authorized to purchase from the lowest and best
bidder for each item the following in accordance with the
hereinafter stated provision:

Provided, however, that the sum total of all of the
items hereinabove mentioned shall not exceed $201,310.08.
The finance officer, or his designee, is further
authorized to purchase from the lowest and best bidder Loop
Detector Amplifiers as follows:
It appears to the City Council that Jack Hullet Sales,
Inc. is the lowest and.best bidder on the item. The Traffic
Engineer is hereby authorized to test this item as provided
by Jack Hullet Sales, Inc. for a period of thirty (30) days.
If the item provided by Jack Hullet Sales, Inc. meets the
standard specifications of the bid proposal and otherwise meets
with the approval of the Traffic Engineer, the item shall be
purchased from Jack Hullet Sales, Inc. at its bid price. If
the item does not meet with the Traffic Engineer's approval
or with the specifications of the bid proposal, the City Council
hereby authorizes the purchase of the material from the next
lowest and best bidder which does meet said specifications and
approval, with the same restrictions as aforestated. Provided,
however, that in no event shall the expenditure for Loop
Detector Amplifiers exceed $10,000.00.
PASSED by the City Council this the .941 day of
November, 1971.
