HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 26 BBBLL7/im/10/11/71 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, on September 28, 1971, the City received bids for the Sanitary Sewers, Lift Station and Appurtenances; and, WHEREAS, Barclay -Owens, Inc. submitted'a bid in the sum of $45,212.43 for the completion of said Sanitary Sewers, Lift _Station and Appurtenances; and, WHEREAS, Charles R. Haile Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineer for the City for the subject improvement, has recommended that the contract be awarded to Barclay -Owens, Inc.; and, WHEREAS, the acceptance of this bid and awarding of the contract must be made subject to approval by both the Texas Water Quality Board and the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States Government to comply with Federal instructions as a predicate to obtaining Federal funds for said project; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Barclay -Owens, Inc. is the lowest and best bid and. should be accepted and a contract entered into with Barclay -Owens, Inc. for said Sanitary Sewers, Lift Station and Appurtenances; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the contract be awarded to Barclay -Owens, Inc., subject to approval by the Water Quality Board and the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States Government, and, subject to approval by said agency, that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Beaumont the contract with Barclay -Owens, Inc. for the Sanitary Sewers, Lift Station and Appurtenances for the sum of $45,212.43; be it further ----resolved, tha^t if either the Texas Water Quality Board or the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States Government should refuse, for any reason, to approve this bid, this acceptance of said bid and authorization to execute the contract in pursuance authorized to attest to said contract and to affix the seal of the City of Beaumont thereto.
