WHEREAS, on August 31, 1971, the City of Beaumont
received bids for the widening and paving of Laurel Avenue
between Wren Way and Caldwood Drive; and,
WHEREAS, George Hentrich & Jay Garth, Inc. submitted
a bid in the sum of $15,751.15 for such widening and paving
of Laurel Avenue between Wren Way and Caldwood Drive; and,
WHEREAS, C. A. Kohler, Consulting Engineer for the
City for the subject improvements has recommended that the
contract be awarded to George Hentrich & Jay Garth, Inc.;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bid submitted by George Hentrich & Jay Garth, Inc. is the
lowest and best bid and should be accepted and a contract
entered into with George Hentrich & Jay Garth, Inc, for said
widening and paving of Laurel Avenue between Wren Way and
Caldwood Drive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the bid of George Hentrich & Jay Garth, Inc. be accepted
and the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to ex-
ecute on behalf of the City of Beaumont the contract with
George Hentrich & Jay Garth, Inc, for the widening and paving
of Laurel Avenue between Wren Way and Caldwood Drive for the

sum of $15,751..15; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to
attest to said contract and to affix the Seal of the City of
Beaumont thereto.
