HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 67 AAA6. 14A A R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont is in the process of purchasing a Showmobile for use by the Parks and Recreation Department; and, WHEREAS, -the C-i-ty Council is of -the opinion that a policy should be instituted governing the use of said Showmobile; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Beaumont shall be governed by the following rules and regulations in the use and administration of the City's Showmobile; 1. The Parks and Recreation Department has priority on usage of the Showmobile. The vehicle will be used to supple- ment existing recreation programs and will enable the Department to take special events to parks throughout the City. Interested groups who wish to become involved in presenting programs in co- operation with the Parks and Recreation Department will not be charged for the use of the Showmobile. (Example—band concerts, choral concerts, dramatic productions, movies, talent shows, etc.) 2. The Beaumont Symphony Society may use the Showmobile without charge. 3. Civic organizations may use the enuipment on a reservation basis, by contacting the Parks and Recreation Depart- ment, 838-6651, Ext. 322, one month in advance of the date the equipment is to be used. 4. 'City trained personnel must b'e'used -to - set up and take down the unit. 5. Organizations, with the exception of the Parks and Recreation Department and the Beaumont Symphony Society, will be required to pay the labor costs for city trained personnel to set c �_fc.lf r 6. The public shall not be charged admission for functions conducted with the Showmobile. 7. The unit shall be used within the City Limits of Beaumont only. 8. Use of the Showmobile for special functions by groups or persons other than civic organizations must have written approval by the City Manager.
