WHEREAS, the Babe Didriksen Zaharias Foundation, Inc.
has been formed by certain civic -'minded citizens for the purpose
of .providing for the citizens of Beaumont, at its own expense, a
Memorial to the late, great athlete, Babe Didriksen Zaharias; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is in
the best interest of the City of Beaumont and benefit to the
public that certain premises belonging to the City of Beaumont
be leased to the said Foundation for the implementation of its
worthy project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
on behalf of the City of Beaumont a certain Lease Agreement with
the Babe Didriksen Zaharias Foundation, Inc., dated March 2, 1971)
leasing to the said Foundation certain premises therein described
for a term of fifty (50) years, according to the terms and
conditions of said Lease Agreement; and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized to attest to same and to affix the seal of the City of
Beaumont thereto.
