WHEREAS, Texas Independence Day, March 2, is an
official holiday for all City employees and falls on a Tuesday
of this year; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that City
employees would prefer to celebrate Texas Independence Day on a
Monday in order to enjoy a long weekend;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Texas Independence Day be celebrated on Monday, March 1,
1971) by all employees of the City of Beaumont.
PASSED by the City Council this the 23rd day of February,
1971.
