A R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
WHEREAS, the Beaumont Symphony Society has received a
grant of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars from the Moody Foundation .
and desires to use the entire proceeds of the grant to help the
City in purchasing a showmobile; and.,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that a
showmobile with a portable stage could be used by the City Parks
and Recreation Department for the purpose of providing concerts,
dramatic productions, variety shows, movies, and many other
activities in the City Parks; and,
WHEREAS, the total cost of such a showmobile is
approximately Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to expend the
sum of Seven Thousand ($7,000.00) Dollars to purchase a showmobile
for the City Parks and Recreation Department.
