WHEREAS, bids were received on December 15, 1970, for
furnishing reef oyster shell for municipal purposes for The
City of Beaumont for the period beginning January 1, 1971 and
ending December 31, 1971; and,
WHEREAS, Lone Star Cement Corporation submitted a bid
for furnishing reef oyster shell, which was the lowest and best
bid received, and the City Manager recommended that the bid of
Lone Star Cement Corporation for the furnishing of reef oyster
shell be accepted and that a contract be entered into with
said Company, and that reef oyster shell be purchased from
Lone Star Cement Corporation under said contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute
on behalf of The City of Beaumont a contract dated
1971, with Lone Star Cement Corporation for the furnishing
reef oyster shell for the period beginning January 1, 1971 and
ending December 31, 1971; and the City Clerk is hereby author-
ized to attest to said contract and to affix the Seal of The
City of Beaumont thereto.
