BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute
on behalf of The City of Beaumont a contract with El Mina Temple
A.A.O.N.M.S. of Galveston, Texas, leasing to the said E1 Mina
Temple the Arena Area of the Fair Park, for the purpose of
staging a circus for the period of August 28, 29 and 30, 1970,
at a consideration of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars; and
the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said contract
and to affix the Seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.

COMMENT:
Attached hereto is copy of Texas Highway Dept. Minute Order No.
63517 dated March 31, 1970, which was issued in response to a request by
The City of Beaumont for lighting of that section of U. S. Highways 69,
96, 287 South from IH 10 to Spur 380.
This minute order is subject to acceptance by The City of Beau-
mont within 90 days of the date of the Minute or it will be automatically
cancelled. The 90 days is fast passing by and the Texas Highway Depart-
ment has requested that we take action on this matter at an early date.
They have contacted us several times concerning this action.
It is the recommendation of this department that the necessary
resolution be prepared and cleared for action by the City Council at the
earliest possible date.
