WHEREAS, by Resolution of this date, the City
Council did authorize the execution of a certain contract
in the amount of $:18,649.00 (Thirty -Eight Thousand Six
Hundred Forty -Nine Dollars) for the construction of sanitary
sewer lines in the Elizabeth, Mulberry, Tevis, Cypress area;
and,
WHEREAS, the consulting engineer of the project,
Charles R. Haile Associates, Inc., has recommended the
deletion of certain items from the said project, thus reduc-
ing the amount of the Joseph V. Tantillo, Inc. bid by $12,285.00
(Twelve Thousand Two Hundred Eighty -Five Dollars) from $38,649.00
(Thirty -Eight Thousand Six Hundred Forty -Nine Dollars) to
$26,364.00 (Twenty -Six Thousand Three Hundred Sixty -Four
Dollars);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute a supplemental contract with Joseph V.'Tantillo, Inc.
deleting from the original contract as aforesaid the following
items:
ITEMS TO BE DELETED:
A. PROPOSAL NO. I
1. Replace Concrete Pavement - 320 S.Y. @ 10.00= $ 3,200.00
2. Select Backfill - Cement Stab. Sand -
360 L.F. @ 20.00= 7,200.00
3. Replace Asphalt Surface - 320 S.Y. @ 3.00= 960.00
Total Proposal No. 1 = $1.13360.00
B. PROPOSAL No. II
1. Replace Concrete Pavement -25 S.Y. @ 10.00= 250.00
2. Replace Asphalt Surface - 25 S.Y. @ 3.00= 75.00
3. Select Backfill - Cement Stab. Sand -
50 L.F. @ 12.00= 600.00
Total Proposal No. II $ 925.00
PASSED by the City Council this the 7th day of
April, 1970.
