WHEREAS, bids were received on December 30, 1969, for
reef oyster shell for municipal purposes for The City of
Beaumont for the period beginning January 1, 1970 and ending
December 31, 1970; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson Shell Company, Inc. submitted a
bid for furnishing reef oyster shell, which was the lowest
and best bid received, and the City Manager recommended that
the bid of Jefferson Shell Company, Inc. for the furnishing
of reef oyster shell be accepted and that a contract be entered
into with said Company, and that reef oyster shell be pur-
chased from Jefferson Shell Company, Inc. under said contract;
and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to ex-
ecute on behalf of The City of Beaumont a contract dated
February 174,1970, with Jefferson Shell Company, Inc. for
the furnishing of reef oyster shell for the period beginning
January 1, 1970 and ending December 31, 1970; and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said contract and to
affix the Seal of The City of Beaumont thero.
PASSED by the City Council this 17 of February,
1970.
