A RE SOLUTION
RESOLUTION AND ORDER CANVASSING RETURNS AND
DECLARING RESULTS OF SPECIAL ELECTION HELD
IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, ON NOVEMBER
13 1969, ON THE QUESTION OF WHETHER DALE C.
HA.GER SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE OFFICE OF
CITY COUNCILMAN BY RECALL.
WHEREAS, there was held in The City of Beaumont, Texas,
on the 1st day of November, 1969, an election of which was sub-
mitted to the qualified resident electors of said City, for
their action thereupon the following proposition:
"Shall Dale C. Hager be removed from the
office of City Councilman by recall?"
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 17,407 votes,
of which number there were cast: -
FOR the recall of Dale C. Hager 10,390
AGAINST the recall of Dale C. Hager 7,021
Majority FOR the recall of Dale C. Hager 3,369
as shown in the official election returns lawfully submitted to
the City Council of The City of Beaumont, Texas, and filed with
the City Clerk of said City; and,
WHEREAS,only duly qualified resident electors of said
City voted at .said election, and said election was called and
held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the election described in the preamble to this
resolution and order was duly called and notice thereof given
in accordance with law; that said election was held in the
manner required by law; that only duly qualified resident
electors of The City of Beaumont, Texas, voted at said election;
that due returns of said election have been made by the proper
officials; that said election resulted favorably to the pro-
position: FOR THE RECALL OF DALE C. HAGER; and that a majority
of the qualified resident voters of said City of Beaumont,
Texas, voting at said election have voted in favor of recalling
Dale C. Hager from the office of City Councilman.
Section 2.
That the City Council of The City of -Beaumont, Texas,
hereby officially and affirmatively declares that Dale C.
Hager is hereby deemed removed from the office of City .Council-
man.
